Need a new furnace? Buying a heating system and air conditioner at the same time? Tired of ice dams or cold rooms? The Residential Rewards Program offers Cash-Back Rewards for heating and cooling equipment as well as attic insulation and air sealing. Enhanced Rewards are available for heating and cooling equipment for income-qualified participants.
By making improvements and upgrades through our Residential Rewards or Enhanced Rewards Program, you can:
- Reduce your home’s heating and cooling costs by as much as 20 percent (when combined with proper attic air sealing and insulation).
- Save up to $400 per year on electrical costs by selecting a high-efficiency furnace, which uses less energy to run the blower.
- Increase the comfort of your home.
Enhanced Rewards Self-Screening Tool
Use the table below to see if you qualify for the Enhanced Rewards Program, which offers larger Cash-Back Rewards for qualifying heating and cooling equipment. Income must be less than limits shown for your household size.
If you qualify, download the Enhanced Rewards Income Eligibility Application and submit it along with the requested income documentation.
High-Efficiency Furnaces
FINANCIAL INCENTIVES:
$100 per propane furnace, 90%+ AFUE with ECM
$150 per natural gas furnace, 95%+ AFUE with ECM
- Furnaces must have a multi-stage burner.
- Furnaces must have an electronically commutated motor (ECM). An ECM is sometimes referred to as a variable speed, constant-airflow, constant-torque, electronically-efficient, or X-13 motor. Permanent split capacitor (PSC) or motors are not eligible.
- Furnaces must be a sealed combustion unit and must be the primary heating source for the home’s living space.
- Chimney liners must be installed where a high-efficiency gas furnace replaces an atmospherically-drafted furnace and only a water heater remains vented through the chimney. The interior opening left by the removed furnace must be closed with a metal cap and sealed with caulk or mortar.
Rewards up to $700 are available for income-qualified participants through the Enhanced Rewards Program.

High-Efficiency Furnace and Air Conditioner Combination
FINANCIAL INCENTIVE:
$250 per natural gas furnace 95% AFUE with ECM and 16 SEER central air conditioner
- Qualified furnace and air conditioner must be installed at the same time and may not be combined with individual equipment Cash-Back Rewards.
- Combination Cash-Back Reward is not available with furnaces that were previously installed.
- Only natural gas furnaces are eligible.
- Furnaces must have a multi-stage burner and electronically commutated blower motor (ECM). Permanent split capacitor (PSC) motors are not eligible.
- Furnaces must be a sealed combustion unit and must be the primary heating source for the home’s living space.
- Chimney liners must be installed where a high-efficiency gas furnace replaces an atmospherically-drafted furnace and only a water heater remains vented through the chimney. The interior opening left by the removed furnace must be closed with a metal cap and sealed with caulk or mortar.
- Seasonal energy efficiency ratio (SEER) for the combination of the furnace, outdoor unit, and inside coil must be 16 or greater.
- An air source heat pump cannot be used to meet the air conditioner portion of this Cash-Back Reward.
Rewards up to $1,000 are available for income-qualified participants through the Enhanced Rewards Program.

High-Efficiency Combination Boilers
FINANCIAL INCENTIVE:
$500 per natural gas home heating / domestic water heating boiler, 95% AFUE
- Boiler must have an input capacity less than 300 MBH (Thousand British Thermal Units per Hour).
- Boiler must be sealed combustion unit.
- Only natural gas boilers are eligible.
- Boiler must be the primary heating source for the home’s living space and domestic water heating.
- Domestic hot water storage may not exceed two gallons.
- Boiler must have a modulating burner and include an outdoor-air resent control (integrated).
- Chimney liners must be installed where a high-efficiency gas boiler replaces an atmospherically-drafted boiler and only a water heater remains vented through the chimney. The interior opening left by the removed boiler must be closed with a metal cap and sealed with caulk or mortar.
Rewards up to $900 are available for income-qualified participants through the Enhanced Rewards Program.

High-Efficiency Boilers

$400 per natural gas home heating boiler 95% AFUE
- Boiler must have an input capacity less than 300 MBH (Thousand British Thermal Units per Hour).
- Boiler must be sealed combustion unit.
- Only natural gas boilers are eligible.
- Boiler must be the primary heating source for the home’s living space.
- Boiler must have a modulating burner and include an outdoor-air reset control (integrated).
- Chimney liners must be installed where a high-efficiency gas boiler replaces an atmospherically-drafted boiler and only a water heater remains vented through the chimney. The interior opening left by the removed boiler must be closed with a metal cap and sealed with caulk or mortar.
Rewards up to $750 are available for income-qualified participants through the Enhanced Rewards Program.

Indirect Water Heater
FINANCIAL INCENTIVE:
$100 per home
- Qualified boiler must be installed at the same time and may not be combined with individual equipment Cash-Back Rewards.
- Indirect water heater Cash-Back Reward is not available with boilers that were previously installed.
- Boiler must have an input capacity less than 300 MBH (Thousand British Thermal Units per Hour).
- Boiler must be a sealed combustion unit.
- Only natural gas boilers are eligible.
- Boiler must be the primary heating source for the home’s living space.
- Boiler must have a modulating burner and include an outdoor-air reset control (integrated).
Rewards up to $150 are available for income-qualified participants through the Enhanced Rewards Program.
Eligibility & Requirements
- Equipment installed must be selected from our pre-qualified equipment lists, which can be found in the supporting documents sections below. If no pre-qualified equipment list is provided, installations must meet the specifications outlined on the application.
- Customers cannot receive Cash-Back Rewards from both the Residential Rewards Program and the Enhanced Rewards Program for the same piece of equipment.
- Cash-Back Rewards apply to improvements and upgrades made to existing homes. If you are building a home, please refer to the New Homes Program.
